Why Broadband Poles?

Full Fibre correctly say on their website that hyper fast broadband can be delivered in two ways. Poles or underground. The website gives five reasons for installing poles, rather than underground ducting.

Efficiency

Full Fibre claim:- Poles are more efficient.

We say:- this has proved to be far from the case in our area. In fact underground ducting has already been installed quickly and efficiently by Gigaclear.

Little Disruption

Full Fibre Claim:- Broadband pole installation is usually much more straightforward and creates very little disruption to residents compared with the digging process, which creates noise pollution as well as congestion and restricted road access.

We say:- The level of disruption, damage to the community, loss of respect for the police and division in the community is an extreme price to pay for something we simply don’t need.

Expense

Full Fibre Claim:-Poles are a more cost-effective solution to upgrading networks.

We say:- On this point we agree. It is a cheapskate low cost solution intended to maximise Full Fibres profit, while vandalising an AONB.

House value

Studies show that ultrafast full fibre connection, whether via a pole or underground increases the value of your home.

The environment

Full Fibre Claim:- Installing a telegraph pole is a much more conscious approach compared to digging.
